Vanquish Lounge
Atlanta, GA
“The difference between luxury and pure decadence is often perspective, unless, of course, you are the team behind the $4 million, 20,000 – square-foot Vanquish and Reign – … In this case, the two go very much hand- in hand. The spaces are owned by Atlanta nightclub impresario Michael Gidewon (Vision, Compound) and were created by lead architect / interior designer David Daniels of David Daniels Design, who vowed to “transcend” Gidewon’s former club in it’s opulence.”

Reign Nightclub
Atlanta, GA
“At the next-door nightclub reign, “It’s all about voyeuristic, custom, metallic-leather VIP booths and highly reflective surfaces, chrome speakers and chrome columns, and a Zaha Hadid-inspired DJ booth that summons attention,” says Daniels. The centerpiece is a black Cohiba granite bar – a moody surface for the atmospheric streaming of videos. The media blitz continues above, where the ceiling is embedded with a super-size video screen. A high-tech Kryo fog system creates a synchronized haze that envelops the dance floor.”

Capriz
Myrtle Beach, SC
“The atmosphere is authentic with a real Italian, Elena Zagaglia, greeting customers; Rat Pack music such as “Mack the Knife” on the sound system; Italian memorabilia, photos and art everywhere you look; fresh pasta drying on racks in the window of the exposition kitchen; and even authentic tiles on the building’s roof imported from an Italian-owned manufacturer located near the original Capri in Brazil. The decor features woods that are sleek and chic, but at the same time cozy and comfortable. Red linen napkins add splashes of drama.”

5 Ellery Road
Newport, RI
“Compact but so cool, the 500-sq.-ft. main-level garage and 500-sq.-ft. upper-level studio pack lots of punch. Lots of windows reveal sun-soaked interiors. The style of home is warm and welcoming, with a contemporary urban flair. The bed is cantilevered off the wall and most of the furniture and storage space is built-in, maximizing every inch of available living space. A stair tower leads you up to the studio area, complete with a walk-out terrace. Continue up to the rooftop garden area and with it, endless waterfront views that make it a hotspot on balmy evenings and on crisp mornings…”

651 Dallas Street
Atlanta, GA
“Amid the rising sea of cheesy and price inflated properties, many architectural enthusiasts lament, “Condos, condos everywhere, but not a place to live.” The corridor of industrial lots between Ralph McGill and North Avenue has inspired a few notable exceptions. Joining the ranks of Copenhill Lofts and 542 Ralph McGill is an unnamed building at 651 DALLAS ST. This functional three-plex formally combines garage and living space in a vertical mass, shielding all with a unifying brise soleil – classic early modern.”

Vision Nightclub
Atlanta, GA
“We wanted everything to be open, where people could flow without bottlenecking. We also wanted a space where they can unfold as the night goes on so it never feels too big.” Daniels designed Vision nightclub, the expanded rethought Club Kaya in Midtown. He also did Mumbo Jumbo, Tongue & Groove and soon-to-open Esso Club successor, Element.”

Kolbinsky Residence
Serenbe, GA
“Old- fashioned charm meets modern design in Serenbe (above), a Chattahoochee Hill County development in Palmetto. Imagine a place where you could walk to a field, cut a couple of cane poles, dig some worms, follow a trail to a creek and spend the afternoon fishing with your son.”
